  • Grandes Réserves No. 8 comes from a region of Italy renowned for its wines. In this region, wine is made using an old local tradition, in which 80% of the grape harvest is picked and made into wine, while the remaining 20% is left to partially dry on racks (to concentrate the sugars, aromas and flavours) before being added near the end of fermentation during the first vatting.
These two steps combine to create an intensely colourful garnet red wine, with pronounced notes of candied fruit and caramel. As for the taste, candied fruit and roasted coffee are predominant in this mellow and velvety wine.
Pairing: This wine is best served with roasted white meats and pasta in a tomato sauce. It also marries well with braised beef or grilled brochettes. It can even be served at the end of a meal with a fruity-acidy dessert.

  • This wine is made from two grape varieties. The vineyard, located some 200-300 feet above sea level, has marl, clay-limestone and volcanic soils. Cool nights help the grapes to achieve peak phenolic ripeness. Traditional wine making techniques are then used to maximize extraction of colour, as well as enhance aromas of red and black fruit, spices and pepper.
Tasting notes: The colour is intense, rich and the nose is complex, with aromas of red and black fruit heightened by more spicy and peppery notes. Long, rich and supple in the mouth, this wine is notable for its blended tannins and highly pleasant expression of candied fruit.
This wine is perfect with red meat that’s been grilled or stewed in a wine- or mushroom-based sauce; it also works well with wild game that’s been roasted or cooked in sauce. This wine can even be served with soft or blue cheeses and dark chocolate desserts.
